The Veil Weapon Tier List

No official stat sheet exists, so this tier list ranks by documented evidence only — patch notes, on-camera tests and creator build picks.

How this list is built: The Veil publishes no weapon stats and no DPS numbers, so this page refuses to invent an S-to-F ladder. Every entry is placed by official patch-note tuning, effects read out on camera, or named creator build picks. Single-source claims are marked; weapons with no verified data stay in Not yet ranked. It is an editorial ranking over sourced facts — the ability and rarity systems live on the weapons guide.

Top picks — with evidence

  • Necronomical Skull (summon) — the September tuning's clearest winner: default summons went 2 → 3 and it can now spawn armored skeletons (official patch note).
  • Deadlight (summon) — a Puppeteer drop that creator farm guides explicitly recommend. The same fight drops the legendary The Dice (effect undocumented).
  • Nimbus Rod (summon, legendary) — spawns more than five clouds at once; drops from rain-event Angry Nimbus at a reported 1-in-25 (creator-sourced rate). Its existence is official — the developers named it in their item-void guidance.
  • Blacksmith greatsword — about 100 silver in spawn town and called the strongest early purchase by walkthrough creators. The budget pick that carries first runs.
  • Lost Recipe Book reward sword — a quest rare that regenerates health while equipped; creators call it badly underrated by its blue color. Proof that rarity colors undersell weapons here.
  • Armageddon (legendary greatsword) — a three-stage skill set shown in a creator showcase (single source for the skills).
  • Magical Harp — still the reference fast-hitting cast weapon: it was the test bed for the Divine Strike enchant (single creator, on-camera). Note it was tuned 7.5 → 6 in the September pass.
  • Melting Pot — “insanely overpowered if you know how to aim it”: big damage plus fire application, dropped by the Smelter Demon (single creator).
  • Weeping Sore (great axe) — kept for one skill: the B-slot Plague Swamp. Drops from The Festering Wound (single creator).

Hit by the September tuning

  • Shadowbeam Staff — damage 13 → 9, a ~31% cut to one of the most-traded weapons since launch.
  • Mourning Wake & Cursed Hammer (30 → 20) — both lost auto-tracking. Mourning Wake's full history.
  • Imp Staff — max summons 3 → 2 and explosion damage 20 → 15; every summon item now defaults to 125 stamina.
  • Mage weapons across the board — stamina costs up, and Water / Flare / Ice Bolt cooldowns moved 1.0s → 1.1s.
  • Also trimmed: Catapult 10 → 8, Rot Polyp Wand 5 → 4, Extraterrestrial Transmitter 8 → 6, Shatterpoint's T ability 1.5 → 1.

Not yet ranked

Names verified, effects not — no guessed tiers: Heaven's Lament and Soul Ringer (the September 12 update's two new weapons, effects not documented), Storm Ruler (and its Enhanced variant), Biome Blade (a Broken → normal → True upgrade chain, single-source), Staff of the False Sun and Mindbreaker (player-stated tiers only, nothing on camera). The Convergence is the community's known Mythic — too rare to rank on any evidence so far.

How to use this list

  1. Early game: buy the blacksmith greatsword, then grab the Lost Recipe Book sword — both are cheap and cover the first hours.
  2. Mid game: summoners aim for Deadlight (Puppeteer) or the Nimbus Rod (rain events); casters check the Magical Harp class of weapons against your class kit on the classes hub.
  3. Before trading: re-read the patch section — the September and October tunings decided several tiers for you, and Mourning Wake is the cautionary tale.
  4. Rarity is not power: the blue Lost Recipe Book sword outvalues plenty of purples. Judge by abilities, not color.

Evidence boundary: patch-note entries are official; on-camera effects and rates are creator-sourced and marked as such. This page re-checks after each balance patch and moves weapons between sections as evidence changes.
