Two tiers of classes with very different rules — super classes mix freely, ultra classes are a one-per-character commitment.
The rules: super vs ultra
The core system was explained by the developers on the official Discord:
- Classes come in two tiers: super class and ultra class.
- Ultra class: one per character. Once held, its abilities cannot be mixed with any other class's abilities.
- After committing to an ultra class, you cannot talk to other ultra class trainers anymore.
- You are expected to fully learn your ultra class's skill set — it is a full commitment.
- The only way out is Kharvos, an NPC who resets your ultra class through a trade (price not yet confirmed).
Super classes are the flexible tier: a hybrid can combine super abilities freely — but the moment an ultra ability enters the loadout it is no longer a legal hybrid. Documented by creators after launch: a hybrid loadout forfeits the pure class's stat buff (a pure Marauder keeps +8% speed; a pure Crusader keeps heal and blind-resistance). Hybrid is flexibility in exchange for the passive.
How you unlock a class
- Alignment currency gates the class: most classes cost 30 Sins (chaotic path, from killing players) or 30 Offerings (orderly path, from quests and bounty-style tasks). The Marauder is mixed: 15 Sins + 15 Offerings.
- Bring about 1,000 silver — both worked walkthroughs pay a four-figure silver sum to the trainer.
- Pass the class quest first — every class has one (the Marauder's is a timed 3-minute on-foot run to Echo Hold, no teleporting).
- Talk to the class trainer and pay.
For the alignment grind, creators point to the Idol of Hatreds — a farmable item in a secret spot behind a bookshelf in the Weeping Crypt's cave — plus server-hopping to repeat the loot, or trading kills with a friend of a different prestige tier. See Sins and Offerings.
Known classes
Only four class names trace back to an official source — they appeared in a video title the developer posted on the official news channel: Berserker, GODSEEKER, FLORIST, sentinel. Treat those as real, but note that a video title is all the confirmation that exists — there is no official class list yet. Beyond them, creator walkthroughs now name eight classes on camera (community-documented):

Swapping is allowed — out of combat
Out of combat you can re-equip your ultra class or swap between super hybrid setups at any time. Experiment on the super side freely; the only hard commitment is accepting an ultra class in the first place. Still unconfirmed: whether classes are locked to a character slot, and whether any roll mechanic exists for classes.
Resetting with Kharvos
Picked wrong? Kharvos is the reset NPC — you trade to wipe your ultra class and start over. What the trade actually costs is not confirmed yet, so do not pick an ultra class expecting a free undo.
