The Veil Controls & Keybinds (PC)
The Veil uses standard Roblox bindings for movement and one idea of its own for combat: you do not parry, you weave. Here is the full default layout and what each key is actually for.
Quick answer: move with WASD, sprint with Left Shift, attack or use with left mouse, interact with E, open the map with M and the inventory with the backpack key. Combat is dodge-based: there is no parry button — you weave left or right through enemy swings.
Default PC keybinds
| Action | Key | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Move | W A S D | Eight-direction movement; jump also clears low ledges |
| Jump | Space | Standard Roblox jump |
| Sprint | Left Shift | Drains stamina — watch the bar during chases |
| Attack / use | Left mouse | Weapon swings and tool use |
| Active ability | Weapon-dependent | Rare and higher weapons carry actives; read the item card |
| Interact | E | NPCs, doors, campfires and trinkets |
| Map | M | Area names and waypoints |
| Inventory | Backpack key | Equip, lock and sell gear |
Why there is no parry button
Combat is built around weaving: short dodges left or right that carry you through an enemy’s swing instead of timing a block. The practical rhythm is to circle a horde, dodge on the wind-up rather than the swing, and keep enough stamina to leave. Sprint and dodge draw from the same stamina pool, so a chase that starts with a sprint often ends with no dodge left.
The timed dodge sits on F in the current build, and chaining weaves is rewarded: five consecutive weaves grant a temporary damage and speed bonus. That reward is why boss guides keep telling you to move through attacks rather than back away from them.
Mobile and console
The game runs on all devices. On mobile the same actions are on-screen buttons, and sprint/dodge share the stamina bar exactly as on PC. On console the layout follows Roblox defaults, with abilities mapped to the weapon you have equipped — the item card is the authoritative source for a specific weapon’s inputs.
Settings worth changing first
- Turn the crosshair on if you play ranged or casting weapons — it is off by default for some players.
- Check the camera sensitivity before your first boss; panic-turning is a common cause of missed weaves.
- Leave the quest gem indicator on until you know an area — it points at the current objective.
